Presenter: "Rory, welcome to Ohne Filter, welcome to the show, this time you made it."

Rory: "I made it this time, yeah. Thank you, it's nice to be here."

Presenter: "And it's very nice of you that you brought your guitar, which is a very old model - it's nearly history, what you have under your arms at the moment. You played it with Taste, for example, in the 60's. You bought it in '63, and it was a heavy decision?"

Rory: "Oh yeah because it was very expensive - I was at school at the time, and I had to pay for it every week, you know? But it was a good investment, it's still working, still working well."

Presenter: (German translation) "You've just come from London, from the studio. You're working on your new album, it's ready?"

Rory: "Yes, we had to, ah - We hoped to have the album out earlier, but it took a little bit more time, doing a new cut. but it's finished now, so, at long last, it's been very hard to get it ah.. We recorded more tunes than we needed, and we have to cut down to ten songs. But the feel is good, it's a very good ethnic feel, very bluesy, with a rock touch but very bluesy, definitely.

Presenter: "And you like very bluesy music." (German translation)
Presenter: "You started with blues music, and you've always been a blues musician - and you had the honour to play with your heroes together, like Muddy waters for example."

Rory: "Yeah, I was very fortunate in '73 or '74 to work with Muddy Waters. He did an album called London Sessions. I also worked with Albert King, and a few other people, but the session with Muddy Waters was a special memory for me because the man was so kind, and it was, you know, the tension in the room... he made everything nice and easy, and... Just watching him tuning his guitar was an experience for me, because you know, he knew quite a lot that I didn't know, and... but his attitude - the attitude was spectacular, you know."

Presenter: (German translation) "And there was a telephone call today? Willie Dixon asked you to play?"

Presenter: "Yeah, he's coming to Europe, after a long time - he used to come over on the Litman & Rout (?sp) tours, the great Blues tours that used to be here. Anyway, he's doing a TV show, or maybe more, and ah he's got his own band - I don't know who's in it, I think possibly Louie Myers and his brother, I'm not sure. But he also wants Eric Clapton and Keith Richard on the sessions, and me to do a song with them, so we'll see what happens, it looks good, yeah."

Presenter: "Oh it sounds good, sounds good - Rory Gallagher, Eric Clapton, Keith Richard." (German translation) "Another funny story, You've got, in your wardrobe you've got a rehearsing amp, an old AC30, and there is a funny story about that and we want to tell everybody."

Rory: "Oh yeah, well I've had... I've had them going on fire, and I've had them stolen, and I've had all kinds of accidents with them, but they are still.. peculiar, there's a sound off them that is fantastic. But, one night I was playing in New York, and, the first song of the show, I was playing along, you know, and all of a sudden I looked back and the amp was actually going up in flames! And the audience was going 'hey (applauds)', they thought this was the Who, you know, they thought this was great. But, of course, it was only a disaster for me (laughs), but I got through it, I managed."

Presenter: (German translation) "Rory, we can't wait to hear your music. We're happy to have you this night, and yeah, it's going to be a rocky, but very bluesy night, right?"

Rory: "I hope so, yeah, that's the way it looks. We'll try and cover the rainbow, different spectrums of the sound, but, let's see how it goes, yeah? I hope it goes well."

Presenter: "Okay, we'll keep our fingers crossed. Thank you very much Rory Gallagher."
